updates from the studio

Turning of the Wheel

The time is upon us again when the world around us erupts into a kaleidoscope of color and all to soon the days turn cold, the winds turn harsh and the wheel turns onward.

Seasons changing here in the north country mean a drastic reduction in population as most flee southward to warmer climates and locals take much needed vacations after the summer hustle has ended. Businesses reduce hours or shutter their doors completely for the winter months and everyone braces for the frigid northern winds that will inevitably come.

On the studio front, I have delivered the last two large paintings to their forever homes and am getting ready to spend most days back in the paint studio. I have picked up some commission work from the local society that cares for the lighthouse – which is exciting and will keep me challenged over the next few months. I do have about 3 slots left for commission work – if someone is still looking to have completion in time for the holidays. But otherwise it is hermit-ville after November, unless some local work makes itself available.

This weeks update includes the addition of the Ko-fi shop – Link is under the “shop” tab – There you can find smaller items such as stickers and bookmarks and smaller works will be added there as well. Ko-Fi, for those that are not familiar, is the equivalent of having a Patreon account- except with Ko-fi , the artist gets to keep most of the money instead of having horrible fees to pay, and there you can buy me a cup of coffee for only $1 . why a $1 you ask? what can that help- it can help a lot, especially if 10 of my friends/supporters decide to buy me a cup of coffee – that is a whole tube of paint or food for 2 days or almost half a tank of fuel: you get the point- every little bit helps, because it all adds up – its a great way to support independent artists without making huge contributions – and we appreciate every single contribution – so, stop by Ko-fi, check out some of the incredible artists over there (not just painters, but also writers, musicians, illustrators, etc.) and grab a coffee for someone.

Happy Harvest, Blessed Samhain –
